I hope that our website gives you a glimpse of our school and something of the enjoyment that students and staff experience here.

The school is poised to enter the next stage of our exciting development and build on our new but very strong foundations. After following a rapid road to improvement, recognised by an HMI inspection in March 2006 (the report can be viewed through this website and states "from the evidence of the significant improvements made; there is clear capacity to continue this improvement under the direction of the headteacher and senior leadership team.") we are now about to embark on the next stage of our transformation.

Following a review of secondary education in Southampton, the school will become co-ed from September 2008.

This is a move very much desired by the local community and for the first time this area of Southampton will have the co-ed option for parents. However, while we actively plan for our new future we are still focused on improving the school for our current students. 

We are committed to ensuring that all of our lessons are challenging so that the learning of all students accelerates and their standards rise; and we will continue to evaluate the impact of all of our improvements to ensure they lead to even higher standards. We want every single boy in our community to achieve, or exceed, his own personal potential whilst developing into a well rounded capable adult on his departure.

We are continuing to develop the school site to maximise the resources that we have, including the recent opening of a new fitness suite and a purpose, redesigned Business Centre. Throughout the next year there will be substantial building improvements as the school prepares to become mixed. We anticipate a complete rebuild in the not too far distant future. 

This is an exciting time for our school and we hope that readers of this site can appreciate a little of what we all feel about Bellemoor.
