Bellemoor School | Southampton

Notice is given in accordance with section 19(3) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 that Bellemoor School Governing Body intends to make a prescribed alteration to Bellemoor Community School Bellemoor Road Shirley Southampton SO15 7QU. The proposed alteration is to Change School Category from Community to Foundation from 03 January 2008.

Bellemoor School would be converting to Foundation category at a point in time when the school will be changing its’ status to co-educational. By moving to the Foundation category Bellemoor school would have a greater degree of self governance and would be in a better position to move forward. Changing to Foundation allows the Governing Body to have greater involvement in the school’s future in terms of school asset management and setting the admissions policy in accordance with Department for Children, Schools and Families guidelines. Foundation status will allow Bellemoor School to create a more cohesive and clearly distinctive organisation that truly sits at the heart of the community.
