Important Information for Parents

  •          The free school meal daily allowance increases to £1.60 as of September. Parents do need to claim if they are entitled and the school is only too happy to help. Please contact our finance office for private and confidential guidance.

  •          The Parents Forum is an ‘informal’ group who meet with me to help, discuss and raise issues with me directly (but nicely) every term. There is no long term commitment, no minutes to take, no agenda to follow – but there is meaningful discussion, lots of laughs, coffee and biscuits. Meetings take place during the day (10.30 am) and in the evening (6.30 pm) – new members are welcome and I would like all the ‘founder’ members to return in the new term. Initial dates:

Wednesday 4 October

Wednesday 7 February

Wednesday 20 June

  • We can arrange additional sessions if necessary – interested new members please feel free to contact my PA Mrs Challis for further information or simply come along.

  •          Uniform – has been much improved this year but from next year it gets even easier. We are selling the school black polo shirts with logo (price £5.70 for age sizes; £6.70 for small/medium/large/extra large).  We are also replacing the jumper with a black fleece which is not only cheaper than the old jumper (£9.30 11/12-13 years; £12.40 small/medium/large/extra large) but is more wearable (according to the boys!)  Also on offer is a black waterproof jacket and a new rugby shirt, all available through the school. Information available from the school finance office which will be open every Wednesday morning between 9-12 during the holidays.

  •          In the interests of health and well being and in the light of increasingly disturbing health related statistics the school will be BANNING all crisps (and similar salty and fatty snacks) and fizzy drinks from the school site. The school will no longer be selling these and students will not be allowed to bring them onto the site. For information most crisps that our students bring to school contain over 60% fat.  For example, one student had brought 4 packets of crisps plus a can of Red Bull as his lunch one day!  I am interested in their health and for a long time only healthy food options have been offered at Bellemoor so I would ask that parents support us in this initiative for the long term sake of our young men.
