Personnel Committee

Membership

 

Shall not be less than three governors plus the Headteacher

 

The committee members may make recommendations to the Governing Body for associate members.

 

Quorum

 

Fifty percent of the membership including the Headteacher

 

Meetings

At least once a term, prior to the termly Governing Body meeting, and otherwise as required.

 

Terms of Reference

 

  1. To maintain all statutory and contractual personnel obligations, especially those relating to race, gender and disability discrimination including Performance Management.
  2. To review and recommend for adoption the LA procedures for dealing with discipline and grievances and ensure staff are informed of these.
  3. To review in consultation with staff, criteria for redundancy to be recommended for the approval of the Governing Body.
  4. To draw up a Pay Policy for the Governing Body’s approval including criteria for the use of discretionary points and make recommendations about their implementation.
  5. To keep up to date of recent developments regarding career structures within the teaching and allied professions.
  6. To liaise and consult with other committees where necessary.
  7. To review the staffing structure in line with curriculum developments in consultation with the Headteacher and the Finance and Strategy committee.
  8. To monitor agreed aspects of the School Improvement Plan.
