Emergencies

Should it be necessary to contact parents in an emergency it is vital that the school's records are accurate. Please let us know immediately of any change of address or telephone number.

Worship and Assemblies

All pupils must attend Collective Acts of Worship unless a written request has been received from the parents and has been granted by the Headteacher. Assemblies promote unity and a sense of purpose and are held regularly. The Headteacher and Head of R.E. are always pleased to discuss with parents matters related to the subject.

Routine Matters

Parents are asked not to send their sons to school excessively early in the morning; a member of staff is on duty in the playground from 8.20am and it is asked that boys arrive between that time and 8.30am. Boys should not be absent from school except for reasons of illness.

Whenever a pupil has been absent from school - even for half a day - he must bring a note of explanation from his parent or guardian to his Group Tutor immediately on his return. A pupil is considered late if he enters school after 8.30am. If a boy is absent from school without explanation for more than two days, an official enquiry form may be sent to you or the Education Welfare Officer may be asked to call upon you. For these reasons, we ask you to inform the school of absence as soon as possible.

Parents are asked to arrange their annual holidays during school holidays whenever possible. Parents are asked particularly to avoid taking their sons away during examination periods, details of which are published at the beginning of each school year.

School Uniform

  • We feel that uniform is important to help the boys establish themselves as part of the school community. Whilst the uniform should be smart and help give the young men pride in themselves it should also be comfortable, easy to wear and not a source of confrontation between staff and students. We therefore ask that parents help to support us in this. Our basic uniform consists of:
  • Black polo shirt with Bellemoor logo, black V neck pullover with school logo, black trousers, black shoes, socks-standard black, grey or white. The new polo shirt has the new logo on it. The jumper has been replaced by a black fleece with school logo. These can both be purchased through the school.  A new waterproof jacket is also available through the school.  Please click here to view
  • P.E. Kit consists of the following: reversible blue and cream rugby jersey, plain white T-shirt for athletics and gymnastics, black shorts, black socks, white socks, football boots, training shoes and towel. The t shirt and rugby shirt are also available through the school.
  • Equipment - boys will also be expected to have a school bag (those with 2 shoulder straps are advised), a pencil case with pens and pencils, a calculator and small pocket dictionary.

Rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings and studs are not permitted.
Trainers are not permitted except for PE.

Hair should be clean, and tidy. Long hair should be tied back and extremely short hair (below grade 1) is not acceptable. Boys are allowed to grow beards but these should be kept clean and tidy.

Extreme styles or fashion statements that the school deems to be unreasonable, along with and hair adornments are not permitted.

In matters of dress and uniform the Headteacher and staff are sensitive to the beliefs and cultures of ethnic minorities. This dress code will be strictly adhered to and the school will not tolerate any variation or extreme of fashion, including hairstyle.

We have introduced a fleece which the boys may wear as an outdoor coat or for internal wear. Other coloured sweat shirts, cardigans or jumpers are not permitted in school or as an external coat. Boys should have a coat or new school fleece for external wear.
