Years 7,8,9

I need to use basic skills required for the sport showing some control and co-ordination. 

I must understand simple tactics in games and be able to devise simple gymnastics

routines. 

I should be able to see when work looks the same and different, and know how to improve your work.

I can give reasons why warming up before an activity is important and why PE is good for my health.

  • Level 4

I am able to accurately link basic skills when needed. 

I am able to demonstrate skills repeatedly showing control. 

I must understand tactics in games and be able to devise gymnastic routines.

I can comment on mine and other pupils work, and understand how to improve upon it.

I can explain and use basic safety principles in preparing for exercise. 

I can describe what effects exercise has on my body and how it is valuable to health.

 

  • Level 5

I should be able to combine skills appropriately with accuracy and consistency. 

When participating in games I should be able to apply different strategies. 

I am able to understand why pupils use different skills and techniques and use these ideas to improve performance. 

I understand the correct ways to warm up and cool down for an activity. 

I can explain why regular, safe exercise is good for your fitness and health.

 

  • Level 6 

I select more difficult skills and use them at the correct time, showing control.

I am able to plan and use strategies and tactics in changing circumstances to overcome the opposition. 

I am able to analyse strengths and weaknesses of opposition.

I am able to comment on skills, techniques and ideas and suggest ways to improve them.

I should be able to explain and use different types of preparation and recovery to suit the activity. 

I must be able to describe how different types of exercise help with fitness and health.

 

  • Level 7 

I can select advanced skills and use them at the correct time.

I must show control and develop new ideas.

I should demonstrate tactics and gymnastic sequences and be able to apply and change them if needed. 

I understand how skills, tactics, composition and fitness relate to the quality of the performance.

I am able to plan ways to improve my own and others performance. 

I can explain the benefits of regular planned activity on health and fitness and plan an exercise programme.
